Power cut problems in Tamil nadu except Chennai

It is very difficult to explain upto what extend we are suffering from the power cut. It is unpredicted, frequent, low voltage and there are so problems. Some times maximum powercut exceeds 15 hrs per day. I want to clear some doubts of mine. Sometimes when we are playing our highend systems suddenly the power goes. My cdp is Ayon cd1s which is tube based. Will the sudden power cut affect its life and the entire audio system components. One more doubt is in fearing the above problem if myself is keeping the system idle some body says the capacitors may get dry and get weak. Since there is no correct announcement in the powercut. I keep my systems idle for the last 2 month in fear of sudden power cut. Any good suggestion for playing back the systems through ups like apc. Is it really safe. Will it not affect the quality? Experts in this field give me suggestion thanks in advance

The Powercut has made the audiophiles go mad. In coimbatore the Power cut is for 12-14 hours a day and I recently moved to my Farm House in Sirumugai and things are worst here. Only few hours of electricity is provided in this part. Fortunately there is a 2 hour power supply in the afternoon and i plan my Music listening during these hours and i switch off the system 5 mins in advance. Pathetic life we are into. I really envy people from other states. I am having a 2 KVA UPS with couple of batteries, but where is the power to charge these? A low voltage and fluctuations will damage the equipment. I am not using my Tube amplifier for the past 6 months and my Rega CDP was damaged because of fluctuation:sad:. Keep your equipment safe. We can listen to it after 3-4 years.
