Hi friends,
I have the following devices connected to an MX power strip (spike buster) which I think is rated around 2kW.
1) Sony Bravia 32" LCD (< 200W)
2) Yamaha RXV-571 AVR (< 300W)
3) Philips DVD player (< 20W)
4) Desktop computer with HD graphics card. (500W maybe)
I notice that whenever, a tube light / fan / another heavy load nearby the setup is turned on or off, the picture goes blank (black out) and reappears after the transient. I am using an HDMI cable (with ferrite bead filter) from AVR to TV. Meanwhile, the sound from the AVR is not at all affected.
What does such behaviour indicate? Is it normal ? Can this cause any damage to my AVR / TV ?
