Hi Guys,

This is the first time i am setting a 5.1 system in my apartment. I am worried about noise of Subwoofers and front tower speakers.

Has any one faced issues with usage of Subwoofer in apartment? If yes than what are the precautions i need to take.

Since i am building my apartment home i can make some changes to prevent noise going down.

Reading on web I can see people are using product like Isolation Riser to shield noise of Subwoofer

Amazon.com: Auralex SubDude Subwoofer Isolation Riser; 15x15x3-inch SubDude in Charcoal, Single: Musical Instruments

Please suggest.

I've been using a HT w/SW for almost 10 years now in an apt. with no complaints so far. Maybe the folks downstream are just infrasound deaf, maybe deaf, maybe I'm just lucky or maybe there's no sound leakage downstream. I added an isolation pad (from Tono, IN) below the SW mainly to reduce resonance, reduce muddiness and prevent rattling of the loose glass window panes in the apt. no thanks to the lousy builder. I suppose that has only helped things along wrt. reducing downward transmission of LFE.
