Preowned POLK MagniFi Max SR 5.1 sound bar vs New Yamaha YHT-1840 HTIB

Friends need your suggestion in making a selection.
Looking for a simple HT system for parents and have two options :-
1. Preowned POLK MagniFi Max SR 5.1 sound bar [1yrs old , cost 34K]
2. Yamaha YHT-1840 HTIB [New cost 30K]

Usages will be 50-50 for music-Movies/web series.

I find soundbars have a very short life (my personal experience).
Use them for my in laws. Have had to replace a few.

Also find my in-laws are unable to distinguish quality of sound. At their age, they just need loud sound.

Hence Yamaha :
- cheaper
- new - will come with warranty in case of problems

It will depend on the use case
1. Polk audio magnifi max - It's a high end model, so will be great for music etc.
If it's not going to be used much for media consumption and installing Yamaha 5.1 if it will be a challenge due to acceptance.

Risk with Polk: Used not sure about history

2. Yamaha will be a better choice as long as you install it proper 5.1 all speakers and not only 3.1 will be employed, then it will be a different experience all together.
Thanks to OTT platforms, all content can be consumed in 5.1 DD Plus.

Risk with Yamaha: None

Your family might be spoiled for good taste forever. It may turn into a family home theatre affair at Max.

i.e. - If media is going to be consumed
