Price effective solution to covert my Plasma Samsung HDTV to Smart TV

I have Plazma Samsung HDTV and want to convert to Smart TV either using the wireless or ethernet..
My TV and Wireless router are in the same rack so I can use anything (wireless or ethernet)..

Can you please suggest something for me...

I considered google chromcast but I believe it always needs smartphone or laptop to operate.. so looking for another solution which is independent..

There are plenty of android tv devices in ebay.in. Buy one with remote control. You can also plugin a usb or wireless keyboard or mouse to control them.
