Hi All,

It is just an open debate. I do not understand the rationale behind pricing the speakers/AVR by different dealers. Now compare these

Boston Acoustics Soundware XS 5.1
MRP at hifimart 24K

Boston Acoustics SoundWare XS 5.1

Now consider the other scenario
MRP of the same above model at htstore.in is 35K

Boston Acoustic Soundware package

well I have seen and compared the above scenarios number of times on different websites for different products. Do not understand why there has to be so much difference in pricing between these 2 same models.

Always wondered what is the rationale behind pricing the AVRs and speakers in India? Any one has got any idea?

The above doubt is not to crticize or doubt any dealers/seller's intentions but is raised in public interest so that people lookin for such stuff should be getting a good value for their hard earned money.

There may be multiple reasons for this such as:

1) One dealer may be a distributer and stockist of product, Stockist have the power to charge you lessor than the dealer who does not have the stock.

2) Further some stockist/distributer buy in large quantities, they always have more bargaining power because of large buying quantity. this way their buying cost is lessor and they can offer better discounts.

3) Two distributers may have bought the same model at different times, The manufacturer may be running some promotions at certain point of time. So one distributer may have bought in a promotion scheme run by manufacturer. Or there may be cost diff due to volatile exchange rate.

4) I may have the stock of A and i dont have the stock of B. So i will push the sale of A first and price the B at slightly higher rate.

There may be more reasons. These are the ones that came to my mind as of now.

Regards
