Not sure if this is right category to ask this so admins please feel free to move this thread to the right category please.

I recently got X90F (2 days ago), everything working great, its connected to my HTPC and stuff. Now thing is, i connected my TV and receiver with optic cable to get the sound of TVs inbuilt netflix and primevideo surround sound through my receiver. I read it before ordering amazon basic optic cable that it can play formats till DTS easily but when i tried playing Netflix, it detected the 5.1 sound and played it as Dolby Digital instead of Dolby Digital + that was getting through my HTPC windows Netflix app and for PrimeVideo its only playing PCM 2.1 even when PrimeVideo says its 5.1 .. I am not sure where am i going wrong? Please any suggestions/advice/ help is welcomed.

Prime video supports 5.1 channel output only on Amazon fire TV stick.
Built in prime video app are usually mobile version app and hence dosent have 5.1 channel sound

Is this officially mentioned anywhere? I mean if it can play VISION why can't just 5.1 audio? **confused**

Amazon prime app on Sony x9000e supports 5.1 HDMI ARC to Receiver. I have been using this for quite a while now.

Amazon Prime Video would output 5.1 from any SONY LED TVs connected through HDMI ARC. I am still using it and working like a charm.

In TVs audio out, when you choose 'optical + TV speakers' out, you get option to choose PCM or Dolby type. Since you've checked every other setting, probably can check this setting to make sure it's in Dolby Digital to get 5.1 (Though it doesn't explain how it's working fine for Netflix).

After trying everything, now amazon prime is playing 5.1 dolby digital plus BUT 4k/vision shows are the only ones which plays in pcm 2.1 only where was all other shows and movies are working really well in dolby digital plus 5.1.

See if there any vision updates for your AVR. Marantz recently released a Dolby Vision passthrough update for its older AVRs. Maybe, that will help.

My system is playing the video is Dolby Vision, just the problem is with Primevideo 4k shows are only working in 2.1 pcm audio. :/
