picked up a copy of Total Recall (2012) from reliance digital and the sound keeps dropping out on the TrueHD track. rewinding a bit restores the sound, but the problem keeps cropping up throughout the movie. tried the disc on both my players, a region A Sony and a region B Toshiba, with no luck on both.

I intend to return the film for a replacement this weekend. if you're planning to pick up a copy, do keep your bill handy in case you face the same issue.

I had the same problem (usa) edition. It was really annoying.
I wonder if this could be a firmware issue with some blu-ray players?

ok...so both Indian and US release have problems. Seems the entire batch of product could be defected with this kind of audio issue.

I don't think this could be a firmware issue, if the problem exists with only 'Total recall' bluray.

In US, it's easy to return the product to the seller and they can provide a refund.

Also, need to write to studio about this defect which has released the Bluray with such defective audio.

I would to highlight one more issue with another product.

I had bought 'Game of Thrones Season 1 Bluray' from Amazon UK. (it has 5 Bluray discs)

When I tried to play disc-1, it took around 10 minutes to load in my Toshiba 3200 player very first time. Disc-2 didn't load at all after long wait and similarly rest of the discs also didn't load.
Next day, I tried to play disc-1 again to watch next few episodes, but it didn't load at all.

I searched on internet and found that it's not loading on many Bluray players. HBO has cited this issue as firmware problem with Bluray players. Even the same description is mentioned on Amazon UK for this product.

However these discs are easily loaded into external Bluray drive attached to my laptop, so I had to watch it this way.

Anybody else having loading problems with Game of Thrones Season 1 Bluray ?

Can you please provide details on drive like model, minimum hardware requirements and of course price;)?

Well...it's an off-topic answer of an off-topic question..

It's 'Sony BDX-S600U External Blu-ray Burner'.

It's an excellent Bluray writer with USB plugin capability. No need of external power supply.
I had bought it from Amazon.de few months back in around 110 Euro. (A friend brought it to me from Frankfurt)

Here is the link from Amazon US. You can see Hardware requirement in the product description.

This is happening on us and uk blu-rays also when you bitstream. Switch to linear PCM and the problem will go away. It's a printing defect.
