Hi,

Need some suggestion to setup proper power supply for my Stereo Setup.

Components I need to supply power to.

1. Integrated Amp
2. Headphone Amp
2. DAC
3. Apple iMac
4. External HDD
5. CD/DVD player
6. One extra port for laptop charging

What would be the safest way of supplying power to all of these components. Should I go for good surge protector or a powerful UPS ?

Thanks in advance.

Depends upon how stable and reliable the mains supply is at your place. I have fairly stable mains supply. I have a home inverter. I am running all my hi-fi appliances on surge protector. I don't have a UPS for my projector even. So if I were you, I would take a proper stock of the situation, lay the emphasis on how many hours of the day the equipment is running. If you are a working person, I am quite sure that weekday usage is fairly low while weekend usage is moderate to high. I am guessing that total usage is not exceeding 15 hours per week.

Look at the realistic situation. Shed away paranoid delusions. Don't over-engineer. Perhaps I have not been very helpful but I am of the impression that Bangalore power situation is fairly OK.
