Often I have seen equipments in overall good condition but with most of the inputs and outputs tarnished.
The primary reason for this is because most of the time we use just one input and output, be it DAC, preamp, integrated amp or power amps.
I have seen so many precious DACs with dirt filled optical inputs, faded and sometimes even rusted coax and xlr inputs.
Similar is the fate of unused RCA ports, USB ports and speaker terminals.
Cheap closed plastic caps are available to cover unused RCA ports, dummy protection caps for optical, XLR, coax and USB connections.
I would even recommend covering the plugs if the product is kept unused.
It will go a long way in keeping the product in tip top condition and will also enhance the resale value.
