Proud owner of Onkyo Nr TX 626 AV, please suggest a good 5.1 speaker

hello Everyone,

After all the research I finally bought Onkyo AV - NR TX 626. The order is placed and I will receive the same next month. Please suggest me a good 5.1 speaker package or individuals for the same. I will but it from US and budget is 500 dollars. I am looking for bookshelves that can produce low frequency (below 50 hz).

bookshelves producing usable LF below or at 50 Hz is not common at the price range you mention.

In an HT the subwoofer does this job.

Maybe you can get something from Onkyo itself but it looks that you may have to either increase your budget or start with a 2.0 and gradually make it 5.1

hope the HT folks chip in.

I have used Tannoy F1 speakers with Onkyo in past and they do match perfect with it.
So think of those.

can you help me with information on where you purchased Onkyo 626 and Sonodyne package in Chennai.

Cost inputs will help me as am looking for the same setup.

Will be visiting Prodigi in a couple of days to take demo of 626 with Energy speakers.

Your advice/suggestion will help me in my decision making.

Hi,

There are a good bookshelf speakers which can deliver 50hz or even 40hz...ofcourse your budget would shoot up.....the B&Ws 600 series have decent bookshelf speakers...You can also look at KEFs....On HiFiMart there are Bostons A25 or A26 which should fulfil your requirements...you may need to stretch your budget a bit...
