ps3 to pc monitor

hey guys...
i have a 320gb ps3 whcih works fine on my 50"plasma samsung hdtv(hdmi) and also on my sony crt tv(av cables)

i want to connect it to my viewsonic monitor va2226w(hdcp supported)

i got a hdmi to dvi cable...

i followed this video...notice even i own the same monitor as in the video...
but i get a blank screen!!!!
