Starting this thread as I received quite a few requests on details of a recent build. If you are looking for a visual treat, I would disappoint you, but if you are EE inclined, my approach / execution may amuse you.
I never attempted before a Class A SS amplifier and or a hybrid one. The current build is a Russian design and I have been hoarding two pairs of populated modules since long so decided to complete and test a single channel first.
It’s a dual monoblock design, rated at 20 wpc and realistically you can extract a maximum of 15 watts rms. The transformers were custom wound by Tortorans. The amplifier has a 6N6P tube at driver stage in SRPP. The power supply is in three parts, 0-24 to 28 volts DC @3A, 0-270V DC @30ma and 0-6.3 volts AC / DC for the heaters. I build my tube amps using AC heating only.
Parts gathered for the build.

I had no instructions for the two power supplies so I crafted my own. However the challenge was how to proceed without any PCBs in hand. My forte as with tube amps is point to point wiring so I crafted my own tag boards for both the supplies.
Last challenge was placement of all parts along with the bulky heatsink. I eventually figured out everything and after initial testing and biasing, fired the amp. The amp has 1 volt sensitivity so it was connected directly to DAC.

The amp plays silent and is quite musical with the clear traits of a tube stage. Power supplies were crafted with high quality parts including Nichicon KZ Muse, BC Vishaya, Keltron, Samwa, Sikorel, RIFA… A total of 50,000uf of capacitance for the SS supply and choke filtered supply with over 600uf / 450V for the tube plate supply.
Any questions, comments are welcome.
