Query reg. free Bluray Player that comes along with Samsung Plasmas

Will the free bluray player that comes with Samsung Plasmas like E550 be region locked?

I have some bluray discs bought via Amazon US. Will those discs play on this free bluray player?

Please let me know.

I think region hack is possible for dvds but not for Blu-ray disks. Your US disks won't work unless the disks are region free.

Well... If the player itself is region free, it will play all the discs irrespective of whether disc is region encoded for a particular region.
That's what my region free BD player does, whether it's DVD or BD !!

Coming to the original question of TS...if the BD player is region free, it will play all the discs. If it's region encoded for India (which is region C); then it will play only those discs which are Region Free or Region C. Simple as that.

Samsung BDPs sold in India are region C. They won't play region A US disks.

Yes, it is Region C locked and apparently there are no known ways to unlock it.

It will play region-free & region C BD's. It will also play region-free and region 5 DVD's.
