I am looking to purchase Rakta Charitra in Blu Ray..but not having any luck seeing as far as availability on Blu Ray is concerned....Can someone let me know if it (Both the parts) has been released on Blu Ray or not ...

The Blu-ray rights for Rakta Charitra (Hindi) lie with T-Series...I had inquired with them in March 2011 about its Blu-rays..I was told they do have plans but not so soon :(

Four months have passed since then...I hope they bring!

The DVD version I saw was quite good, both for video and audio. I wonder if there is anything in the movie that is worth a Blu-Ray version.

Cheers

The film was shot with a HD Digital Camera...so if the blu-ray comes out..its PQ will super rock and not to mention the SQ which is always good for a Ram Gopal Varma film!

Oh cmon...there have been far worse movies released on Blu Ray....

Well, by next year I am sure Hollywood will stop releasing movies in DVD and they will only use Blu-Ray for all their releases. Already Blu-Ray's are available for 10$, so the time is not far when DVDs will disappear. The Indian movie industry will also follow suit. I already see new movies being available for Rs.600-800.

The point I was trying to make was completely different. I was seeing a DVD version of Mission Kashmir yesterday, and I could clearly see the thick powder on Preity Zinta's face. It was extremely distracting. Rather than watching her expressions, I was seeing how the powder was creasing on her face as she spoke and showed some expressions.

It is not just the camera but a lot of other things that have to come upto speed for a Blu-Ray to be pleasant to our eyes. Sound is easy, but the video part is extremely difficult. Makeup, clothes, expressions, and small errors could all lead to the video being a disaster. When you talk about movies that have a lot of violence, it is even more important for the director/editor to take care.

Cheers

With respect to everyone my personal opinion is, it is better to watch good film in scratchy VCD rather than High fidelity blood and gore bad movie in blue ray.

Anyway RGV is not the same creative person as he was used to be. Again my personal opinion.

Offtopic : I don't know any other intention then making money in producing movies on say Dawood, Paritala, Karim Lala. Haji Mastan, Maria Susairaj Gerome, Stone Man, Kasab, Chhota Rajan, Chhota Shakeel. Future generation will hardly have any idea of bad aspects of glorified life stories of such people. That too with silly song and dance, garish costumes, worst lyrics, irritating music, same action sequences and no Script. Once again my personal opinion.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this Statement. I used to be his admirer from the days of Shiva. But lately he is using his image and fan-base to his advantage..churning out low standard movies from his factory and creating false hype & gossips before release to cash as much money as he can in openings.
