Below is my setup:

Sony 32 inch EX650 Series BRAVIA Full HD with Edge LEDKDL-32EX650 (Should supports ARC)

Yamaha RX-V373 (HTR-3065)

Sony Blu-Ray Player (BDP-S490)

Set-top box

1. Set-top box >> connects to HDMI 1 (IN) in Receiver
2. Sony Blu-Ray Player (BDP-S490) >> connects to HDMI 2 (IN) in Receiver
3. HDMI OUT from Receiver >> connects to TV

In addition, I have the below setup if I want to watch TV without receiver.

1. Component cable connected from Set-top box to TV directly along with the Audio cable (Planning to replace it with Optical for Audio) which works perfectlty without receiver.

Now the issue is whenever, I am switching on Receiver and Sony Blu-Ray player and want to listen music/movie form the blu-ray the audio is not coming from Receiver always and it is from TV speaker instead.

Sometimes it is working meaning the audio comes out from Receiver. Sometimes not working and all the audio coming from TV and I need to manually change the Sound output from "TV Speaker" to "Audio System" in the TV.

Any setup issue? Pls advise. Also do we need to connect BD/DVD in the first HDMI of receiver? Because I have connected in HDMI 2 (should not be an issue...I believe)

Thanks.

BD/DVD can be connected to any HDMI input of the AVR. Disable the HDMI ARC feature in the AVR and BDP or connect the HDMI out of the AVR to the non ARC input of TV.

Hi,
Thanks for your input.

I have connected HDMI OUT from AVR to non ARC HDMI IN in TV. Also I have disabled ARC in AVR. Any reason why to disable the ARC?
But that didn't resolve the issue.

As advised by spirovious I have noticed to disable the HDMI OUT option and to use AMP option in audio output resulted in HDMI CONTROL to be offed and resulted in not able to use the yamaha remote for controlling Sony bd player:sad:
But it works....at the cost of not using the same remote to control HDMI DEVICES:sad:

HDMI >> Configuration >> HDMI Control ( it is in AVR SETUP) If HDMI Control is ON then AUDIO OUTPUT is disabled by default

Only if HDMI Control is OFF, AUDIO OUTPUT is enabled by default.

In AUDIO OUTPUT only, we have the option for AMP and HDMI OUT (TV)
