Reciever for Klipsch RF-82's

I recently picked up a pair of RF-82's for my basement. I currently have a Harman Kardon AVR 1600 running current setup. After researching on the internet and asking around I'm back to square one and really have no idea if this receiver will run these speakers without damaging them. Do I need to look at upgrading and if so,what should I look into? I would prefer to stay under $800 CDN.

this receiver should not damage them, unless the receiver has a fault. See if you like the sound combination. Else you can go for a NAD or yamaha amp.

IIRC, the sensitivity of the speakers is 98db so it should have any issue pairing with the low powered HK AVR. See how the pairing works for you & decide the change of the AVR accordingly.
