Regza 32RV600 + WDTV Live = Gud Idea?

Hello e-freaks,

I have been spending my precious hours researching about the precious TV I want to buy. I have gone through numerous articles/discussions on HFV and Google and shortlisted 3 brands - Toshiba, Panasonic & LG.

My requirements -
1. LCD with good PQ
2. Not expensive - 30-35k
3. USB (Will discuss it later)
4. Good sound.

1. I am not interested in an LED as the sidelight LED-LCDs are not what they say they are and backlight with local dimming not available at lower res. tvs and even if they are available will be expensive.

Plasma's all this Image Retention and running slides thing dont get through my mind and I am not all eager to get into the jhamela

LCD is best suitable for now.

2. Budget is a considerable factor because I don't see worth in spending big bucks on just a TV which will be obviously outdated in a couple of years.

3. Comprehensive USB compatibility required , because i download 90% of the movies in all types of quality and formats, which indeed is difficult to find.

4. I am a music producer myself and love heavy sound,I love my bro's LG LH60's sound and want something of that calibre because I will not be attaching a HTS.

Thus i have decided on the Toshiba Regza 32RV600 with a WDTV Live media player as the TV i saw in the showroom was excellent and had awesome sound and VFM @ Rs. 26000 and the WDTV Live @ Rs. 5500.

This setup would cater to all my needs.

I use Airtel IPTV SD cable.

I want your opinion whether i should finalize my choice?

Any suggestions welcome.

hey bdsmcoolguy, the price for 32" Toshiba in Delhi should be less than 26k. madbullram picked one up for 22k (or was it 20k???) in Chennai. and another lucky member picked up a Toshiba 40" for 22K (he was indeed lucky!!!).
It seems you are leaning towards the Jazz Theatre.... why not go for it?? If your budget is 35k then it should accomodate both Jazz theatre + WDTV live.... (I am assuming that the price of Jazz Theatre has dropped in past few months).
...or go for Samsung C590 which has supposed 800W PMPO sound output. But I think the Samsung might be little expensive.

The toshiba they have got is a 32AV700 this one is RV series.
yes i am leaned towards the Jazz Theater but isnt it discontinued now? and would it be ok to buy this relatively old model?

Samsung does not appeal me , dont know why.

The budget can be extended to 40k , if i get what i want.

I am also looking for a media player.where are you getting WD live for 5500?? Also would like to advise you not to buy Regza RV700. Its a new model with same specs except its missing 'audyssey EQ'.

25k is cool , when and where did you buy it? I dint come across the RV700, so considering RV600.

How is the performance? Can you give a review about it as I am getting impatient as the days go by .

Due to lack of time, I cant give full review of the TV, all I have to say is that I am satisfied. I was tempted by LGs and Samsungs due to their pen drive playback abilities but later on I discovered that they have limitations (e.g. LG cant play DTS files). Buying this model will save you at-least 4k which u can use to but media player(far superior than in-built USB player). I use Airtel Digital DTH (SD) for TV viewing. I compared SD playback with samsung and sony and found toshiba is a little better. colors are more natural in Toshiba. I bought TV from sargam electronics (near pastry palace) paschim vihar.

Hmmm , I think i can bring down the dealer to 24k~ coz of world cup offers going on.
But the main thing bugging me is the 8ms response time.

Which should i choose? 32RV600 or 32RV700
