Has anyone auditioned REL T5x and T5i? I wanted to know how much is the difference between REL T5x and T5i. How do the REL T5x and T5i compare with B&W ASW 608 and Rythemic L12? Rhythmic L12 is bigger and more powerful but asking for differences in terms of integration with speakers etc

What is your room size and speaker setup?

REL t5x/t5i is ideal for small rooms. I have auditioned this at different times, so it is difficult to say a conclusion, but from my view, the t5i has a great body and dynamic. Because of the high-level input, it's much easier for integration with speakers. L12 is a much bigger sub, and it definitely goes down a bit low.

My current setup is audio-gd DAC, Marantz pm 6004 integrated amplifier and Dali Sensor 3 bookshelf speakers. My Room size is very small about 85 sq ft but I have had no issues (there is no distortion even at higher volumes) mainly because of acoustic treatment and the presence of a lot of quartz crystals in the room (I collect them). In any case, i think because of room gain the concept of room size might not be very accurate.

So would you say that there is no major difference between t5x and t5i? I am getting t5i at a discount because it is discontinued. However, I don't want to compromise on quality because I dont upgrade often and this is going to be with me for a long time. I might move the system to a bigger room, in that case, I might add another subwoofer.

The other thought is that since smaller rooms often benefit from room gain, which can enhance bass response. Therefore it is better to go with a larger subwoofer which may perform well due to the acoustics of the smaller space, provided it is used at lower volumes.
