Replacement for Yamaha DSP A1

Expertise suggestion required .
One of my friend looking for investment on his new gear which is suppose to similar for his Yamaha DSP A1.( Not the technology wise ).Only few ppl knows what i meant with Yamaha DSP A1( Rock Solid IMO )
He is not convinced with latest technology which is secondary for him compared to power ( mainly he is using it for Stereo) with multi channel options if possible.
Any Discussion is available in this forum could help him !!.

This has been the flagship avr of Yamaha. Solid build. I am using the rxv 2095 which is quite similar. Getting something similar today would be difficult. You could audition the aventage A3060 which could be close to the dsp a1.

You could also look at the high end model of Denon 7series, marantz 7010 and above, Yamaha A3060 & 70

I still have a DSP A1 though not in use. You don’t get HT amps like that any more. One needs to go high end in Denon or Rotel for similar build quality.
