Hi all!

Some time ago I decided to buy this combo and in general I am very happy with it. But there is a littel problem, what I dont know how to fix it.
Listening music it is perfect, like it a lot. But when I watch movies, everithing is good as long as comes louder scene, like explosion or some action scene, then it is too loud, need to lower volume.
Anyone have an idea, how to fix it. I hope that there is option for that.

My room is small as well, about 20m2.

Thanks for your help.

What you are experiencing is called dynamic range, not a problem. in real life explosions will always be louder than two people talking. If it is bothering you too much, you could use various settings to tone it down. The first method is using DRC (Dynamic Range Compression) which is a feature in all AVRs nowadays. It controls the difference in loudness levels between quite and loud scenes and gives a constant sound level. The second is using the Night Mode, which is also available in all AVRs. It tones down the effects levels while maintaining dialog delivery. The third is increasing the channel level of centre as compared to fronts and keeping master volume low, as most effects are routed through front L & R speakers. None of these would be ideal in terms of reproducing the true soundtrack of the movie as was intended.

yeah ashis is correct..
there must be a setting dynamic vol off low mid high...check it..try it..fix it.
btw i like it..in cinema..sudden blast

thanks for your replies guys!

I have three options under the dynamic range: Standard, min/auto, maximum.
And it is already set to min/auto.
There are two other options under dynamic range, one is "Max volume"(I can choose only between -30db to +16,5db), but for me +30db is pretty loud already.
and the last options there is "Initial Volume" and it is off at the moment(avalible option there is: off(currently), mute or I can choose between -80db to +16,5db) - dont know what it does.

As it says, initial volume will reset the volume of AVR to the set level whenever it is turned on. In other words, it will not remember the last played volume level.

I am confused - Does your AVR say Dynamic Range or Dynamic Range Compression (DRC). I'm guessing it is DRC, then you should select maximum. If it is just dynamic range then selecting minimum should work. Just try over the same scene change.

Max volume is the setting which helps you not to increase the volume above the set level - by accident or intentionally. It does not mean that your AVR will play only at that level. Keep it at 0dB. Don't keep it at -30dB, that would be low while listening to music and then you will have to fiddle with settings again.
