As a am planning to buy new 3d tv I have investigated most of the brands and found amazing facts that most of the tv manufacturer shows only their plus point and hide negative points.

1.)Samsung-- have you noticed the advertisement shown by Samsung earlier about 3d shows lot of things like butterfly coming out from screen ,frog jumping and so on .But now a days ( I believe that they have understood they are far behind in tech) that is why they are only advertising as SMART TV( no where it is mentioned as 3D).I wend to Samsung plaza at nashik and conform that the 3D viewing is really catching hadek .It is really great failure of the company .
I come to know that the Samsung have made collaboration with READ-D to make new technology which will be available in second half of the next year( if successfully made)

2.)Sony I really dont understand their strategy .The prices are always more than others. Their glasses are heaviest .Few days back they ignored the LED technology and only few models were available. Now there is X-Reality with LED.( suddenly become wise).Funny thing that few days back their sells manager was telling me that the technology which we calling LED is not really LED ,it is fake ( may be he is confused with OLED and LED).But I am not happy with the money and picture combination so I left.
3.)Panasonic Few days back their was lot problems with plasma like burning. high consumption etc. It seems that they have come out .I seen 42st30 3D result was very good ,the only thing is their was slight more flickering in glasses than others. Good part is having warranty for 3 years.
4.)LG- Their cinema 3d range is excellent .The only problem is that their collars are littlie bit blackish ( Samsung have blue shed on screen and LG have black )and the deft of the 3D is only 10 Ft.But I found 3d passive tech very user friendly.

Hope that in diwaly everybody consntrate on giving disscaunt to us.

What's wrong with that ? He was only being frank. LED TVs are LED backlit LCD TVs and not "LED TVs". A true LED Tv would be something like an OLED TV. And I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but please use proper spellings and grammar next time onwards so we can easily comprehend what you wish to convey with your posts.
P.S. Mean no offence! :)

If you are so not happy with all brands then wait for oled 3dtvs that will solve all the problems. But surely it will be insanely expensive atleast for the next 5 years and wont even probably launch in large scale before 2013.

gappa, with 3 of the leading brands out of the running for you, it leaves you with very little choice doesnt it?

That is the funny part.

They have introduced X-realty as LED TV

I think you are VERY confused my friend. X Reality is a video processing engine and has nothing to do with LED. Except the fact that all LED LCD models in the 2011 Bravia range have X Reality/ X Reality PRO chip.

OK

I mean X-REALTY POWERED NEW LED TV

Yes so ?
What is wrong with that ? They are not advertising "new generation LED" technology. Its an advertisement about the benefits of the new X-Reality Engine coupled with LED technology.

My dear frend ,you are not trying to understand what i want to say

The red part is my opinion.rest is just insidance .I have that much knowlage to differnshiate between led back and lcd back. Please note that sales manager trying toexplen me oled tech, insted of that he should have told me that we do not have" led lcd tv" if you want expiriance the same ,visit panasonic shop and ask for led tv ,they will reply you same.( these making fun with customers)

One more thing---- their are absultly no comment on other brands my opinion, all of agreed with by observation?

Firstly, Sony did not "ignore" LED TV. They were the first manufacturer in the world to use LED backlight and also RGB LED Full array LED local dimming backlighting.
So how can a company ignore something that it created ? EDGE LED was also first introduced by Sony in 2008

Secondly I still don't understand what wrong info the sony sales manager provided you with ? I believe he is a very well informed and frank guy who tried to make you understand that they do not have true LED TV (OLED) but "fake" LED i.e. LED backlit LCD. This is what every sales guy should say instead of trying to fool them by saying "yes we have LED TV!!!!"

As for pricing yes, Sony has always charged a premium on their products and it still does that but this year the pricing is significantly improved over 2010 offerings. As for glasses being heaviest yes they are heavy and slightly uncomfortable but they are stylish and have very good performance compared to other Active shutter systems with higher brightness.

I am again saying to you to read all the things .

Most of the manufacturer saying they are having led tv,insted of that they should say they have led lcd tvs .( This time i am taking about advertisment)

Comming back to you comment on sony led, do you have data about the how many models they had last year led lcd basced? i know that why i am saying

Yes that's true but that applies to all brands including LG and every single manufacturer of LCD TVs in the world.

I feel LG and Samsung were more dramatic with LED TV marketing than Sony is.

Yes last year Sony had lesser number of LED models in the budget range with NX,HX,LX and selected EX models being LED LCD. This year the number has increased substantially to attract more customers and generate higher sales.

The thread deviated from the original intention, I think.

@gappa, please clarify, what did you mean by the title of the thread.

D for DABBA = .............................

As far as I know, Sony prices are higher because it imports the whole built TV. Import costs are high. Samsung manufactures or assembles the TVs in India, thus reducing the final cost.

LED Tv = LED Backlit LCD.
LCD Tv = CCFL Backlit LCD.
Plasma = Phosphor excited by ION discharge from gas in plasma state (No Backlight).

X-Reality = Name of Video Processing engine (VPE) by Sony.
Bravia Engine (BE) = Another VPE by Sony.
DNIE = Samsung's VPE
XD = LG's version

Does Panasonic name their VPE? ( I do not see any on my Panasonic Manual).

3D is not ready for prime time.

Anything else I missed from OP?
Im sure most of the people in this forum are already aware of all of the above (or rather most of the above).

Panasonic concentrates on the panel improvements and names stuff based on the panels.. Neo plasma/Infinite black pro etc..

Its like hardware vs software enhancements..

Not to mention panasonic VPE sucks compared to others and is buggy..

I dream of a panasonic plasma with samsung firmware..
That should surpass the kuros..
