hi all,
initially i planned to buy LG LD 460. But the BD Wise feature in samsung tv and samsung blu ray player has put me dilemma.
How this BD wise works ( i am putting what i have understood).
if you have a Samsung TV which has BD wise and Samsung Blu Ray player with BD wise support, the blu ray player will upscale any DVD to a better resolution for the TV.
I have a PS3 and some people say that ps3 also upscales similarly.
now the dilemma is shall i buy LG LD460 and use PS3 for upscaling.
or shall i invest a little more money and buy Samsung TV and blu ray player and use blu ray player for upscaling

Like DLNA, BDwise is in its infant stage IMHO. Many claims from Samsung side shows it on brighter side but the practical experience is what counts. What you have mentioned shows that you got an idea of it. The upscaling concept seems to work in some cases and some cases frustates you. Auto upscaling from 480i to 1080p is quite on the mood of the technology. The concept as such is good but if it does not work flawlessly, its of no use. The auto setting for BDwise may not be best for you and you would still like to customize it. If you have PS3 options going either way will not bother you much.
