Hi,

I have gone through other posts about the panel types in Samsung 40 inches LED TV. I noticed several panel types like SQ, AA etc.. I recently got a Samsung 40 inch LED TV UA40D5000 from Bangkok. I was so eager to see the version number (panel type). Expected that it should be something like SQ as some of the experts here said it is the best.. But to my surprise i found it as HQ13 which was not mentioned in the forum.. :( Can you guys please help me in understanding what type of panel is this and how good it is in the order of SQ/SS, AA.. etc... I am eager to know.

HQ appears to be a samsung panel, only way to know for sure is to access the service menu .During standby press info, menu, mute, power

In there look for something like below
40A1UF1E ,the letter right after 40 is the panel make

40 screen size
A panel make (A = Samsung; D = CMO; L = AUO; I = CPT,P = chungwa, H = chinlin or sharp cannot confirm )
1 frequency (6 = 50 Hz; 1 = 100Hz; 2 = 200Hz for indian models for NTSC it will be 60,120,240hz)
U panel (A = Anti glare; T = TN; U = Ultra clear)
F resolution (F = 1080p; H = HD; )
0 irrelevant
C backlight unit (C = CCFL; L = backlight LED; E = Edge LED)
