samsung / panasonic seconds LCD TV

A few days back, I have seen an offer of samsung 46D6600 at Rs.88K with bill, warranty and installation by samsung people. ( in a seconds showroom which have other models and other items as well ) The price as per letsbuy is 118600/- The defect, as informed, is a scratch on the frontc body. The TV seems to be OK with good display and sound. Is this offer real ? I thought that seconds are sold without company warranty. Any other memebers have experience in buying seconds items ? and the pitfalls of it ?

Mate, I had also come across an LG showroom which offered only seconds products. The general price discount is approx 30% on the MRP. The installation is done by company guys & warranty is also applicable from the day you purchase.

I was scouting for LG50PK550R plasma.....the MRP was approx 73k....seconds dealer offered best price of 51k......checked at few dealers and the street price for fresh set was around 58-60k hence i dropped the plan and eventually went for a fresh Panasonic 50" VT20.

Dont compare online prices as they generally are the MRP.....check with small local dealers who will offer a good discount on the MRP before you decide....

In any case I will check up local price before buy. How much reduction we can genreally expect ? 30% ?

Although this second hand dealer is in existance for a couple of years, I never bothered to check prices, as I was under impression that seconds items does not carry company warranty. Any pitfalls in this area ? I do not bothers some scrathes or other minor defects if it does not affect the performance.
