Hello All

I am a new member just joined today.
I am kind of lost in the wiring up of Samsung TV-Sony Hometheatre-Tata Sky.

Device models:
TV: Samsung PS51D550 has HDMI in (not sure of out) and optical out
HT: Sony DAV-DZ640K has HDMI ARC
STB: Tata sky + HD

Right now, I have connected this way.
STB to TV: HDMI - no problem with video, I have connected co-axial cable from STB to HT - I do get surround sound, not sure about the real 5.1
TV to HT : HDMI - works ok for what I can play in HT/DVD

But Sony HT (Not the best choice, now I know...) does not play all the video formats. Samsung TV pretty much plays any thing.
If I manage to take the audio output of TV to HT, I can atleast play lot of files. I dont get clear answer from Samsung whether TV has ARC. If I connect it anyway, the TV 'detects' the receiver I dont hear any sound. The TV has optical audio out and HT has HDMI with ARC. Should I use a convertor or something? Would it still give me 5.1?

Can you please help me to wire this up?

Many thanks in advance.
