The Sony EX720 is slight higher series then the samsung D5000.It comes with a 120hz panel and also has motionflow 200xr(which i think is backlight scanning+ older 100hz motionflow based on frame interpolation) and is also 3d capable.

The actual rival model for the EX720 on paper is the samsung D6000.

Some people are saying that it is not justified to pay so much for a 32 inch tv. Are they right?

If you are looking for Full HD viewing, you should go for atleast 40" (saying from my experience). Unless you plan to use the TV as a Computer Monitor and playing games sitting very close, you may never notice the difference between HD ready and Full HD TV in 32". Even in 46" the difference in regular sources like DTH is overall about 25%. This difference is LESS than what you see with different compression levels.

Gist - You should know your usage and viewing distance before deciding on going for a Full HD TV. Talking of comparison, as Sony EX720 is of higher segment than D5000, I would vouch on that. However, be aware that it can not play 3D through USB, does not support NTFS (as I learned from online reviews) and mkv.

Prankey is right, go for 40 inch or above and njoy the PQ, rather than spending so much in 32 inch doesnt make any sense.
In mean while to be more precise just have a look in 32 HD ready and Full HD lcd tv and see for yourself. Specs should be same :ohyeah:

I just wanted to know that whether it is justified to pay the extra amount for the 3D feature?

Too much technicality and queries kills joy of purchase.Mods plz stop debates, posting or queries beyond certain limit and delete threads.

I am planning to purchase 32EX720. My main use would be for playing movies from external usb storage, watching cable tv, connecting to pc through HDMI and playing games.

Questions,

Are there any formats of media which set DOES NOT support from usb storage?

Will it detect NTFS partition on an external USB storage?

How is the clarity when watching normal 2D cable TV channels?

How is the clarity when watching a 3D movie through HDMI?

How is the clarity when playing games through computer through HDMI?

Thanks in advance,
Simon Mandy
