I believe its similar to D6000 minus 3D! Price difference between D5900 and D6000 is not that high. Any reason you are looking for this? I can get you best price in Bangalore if you have zeroed in on this model.
D6000 is customized India specific i.e only indian version of D6000 has 3D. Most other countries the 6000 does not have 3D. So it would not be advisable to go for that model as 3D is probably added as an afterthought and it not designed for 3D.
Coming to the D5900, i have seen it in showroom and it provides excellent 2D Picture Quality and the design of the TV is also pretty good and if you dont want 3D then that is a gr8 TV.

The key difference between series 5 and 6 is the refresh rate of 50hz and 100hz. The d6600 has a smaller bezel and the same refresh rate internationally as the d6000,although samsung's indian site shows one with clear motion rate of 200 in d6000 and 400 d6600.AFAIK refresh rate makes a diff for sports n games. There is a over 20k diff between d6000 and d6600 for 46inch.
Refresh rate plays a huge difference for 3D picture quality. For 2D its not much to bother about.
