" New York, Apr 14 (ANI):Samsung's new 3-D television comes with a health warning, that looks more like a pharmaceutical ad-pregnant, elderly, sleep-deprived people should avoid it.

Pregnant women, the elderly, people under the influence of alcohol, those with serious medical conditions and the sleep-deprived "should avoid utilizing the unit's 3-D functionality," the company said on its Web site.

Children and teenagers "should be closely supervised when viewing these images" because they are more likely to experience side effects, the warning added.

And worst would be, viewing the lifelike pictures can cause epileptic seizure or stroke, said the company, reports the New York Daily News.

It also listed milder symptoms, including dizziness, nausea and disorientation.

The innovative gizmo - which Samsung dubbed "the future of television" - hit the shelves last month.

However, Panasonic, which also markets the new TVs, does not carry a similar warning on its Web site. (ANI) "

If it is so harmful, then why are these TV's being launched ???

Creating intrigue .......... it is a tried and tested sales gimmick.

Just like for the movies ....... a scandal is necessary for the box office collections..........

This is a very old discussion which has happened earlier. search the forum and you will find a thread on 3D tv's discussing the same.

Hi,

I searched and this is the only discussion that I got. Hence, I dropped the post in this thread rather than starting a new thread.

If you have pointers to the old thread, please direct me to it.

Regards,
Prasad.
