Where to find original Sanyo STK461 amplifier in Delhi? One can find one online on sites like ebay.com and aliexpress but those are most probably be counterfeit and also require international purchase. There must be somewhere in India who got orignal STK461 or 463 or 465 replacement part.

Can anybody help finding one?

there is no way to be really sure if the parts are genuine or not. Even I had trouble sourcing a 465, and the replacement still had issues, so I'm not touching any of those amps any more.

I bought Akai's stereo amplifier which originally uses STK461(acc to service manual) but upon inspection i found mine has STK465. so that means somebody long time back changed it, i am saying long time back because its heatsink compound is all dried out which happens because of aging. The Amplifier unit is running and sounds good too but i have a doubt if its genuine or fake also the stereo VU meters exceeds its limits at full volume( that's probably because meter is set according to stk461 and stk465 is more powerful than 461)

I bought a Sony STR 242L, and even it came with an STK465 (even though it was supposed to have an STK461 as per the manual)
I think since they were interchangeable, manufacturers sometimes used them interchangeably as per availability/cost.

usually there will be a trimpot to set the VU meter levels - you can adjust them.

There are some people in Mumbai who are still making STK based amps and also selling spares. Check@9892322332, may be helpful.

The six chips in that family have only 2 designs:
457/459/460 for pair of 18 to 24vdc rails
461/463/465 for pair of 24 to 30vdc rails

What is the output (@WPC) of your amp? I guess 465 datasheet says 2x30WPC but there are cheap kits available on ebay which says 100WPC!

By the way, can anyone share experience on SQ of thee chip based amps?

the funny thing these days is, whether you buy components from the United States or India, they all come from on common source, China (I bought a whole hit of components from the US, for recapping my NAD 3020s, only to find the same brands available locally in Trivandrum). The saving grace perhaps is, the first quality of stuff goes to the western world while the second and third rated ones may be coming to India.

That again depends...I got a slew of components from the US (chinese origin) and found that what I bought in SP Road (Blr) was better (chinese, taiwanese origin). Did'nt see much of taiwan stuff in the us....
