There are no Rega service people in India. In fact, there are no dealers in India right now I think. I have no idea if there is anyone in Bangalore. Have you tried to download to service manual from any websites? Maybe that may help.

Please PM sandeepmohan. He had the same issue with his RP1 and apparently it is fixable. He might be able to help you or direct you to someone who can fix it.

Speed issues in turntables and tape decks are generally quite irritating and challenging to fix. There can be multiple reasons, hence trained eyes are required for taking a look. Need not necessarily be a Rega service centre but someone who knows his TTs.

I totally agree with Reuben's view. You got to make sure you give it to the right guy.

Would you and Mr. Jacob be aware of any Turntable expert in Bangalore whom I could entrust my RP1 to ? Mr. Jacob I have just sent a message to Sandeep Mohan as suggested by you. While I wait to hear from him, I thought I'd check with the two of you

Cheers

I am not aware of a good technician in Bangalore but I can vouch for Mr. Kuruvila's technician. He's quite a smart and capable person.

Yeah; I had mine attended and thankfully it was not a motor fault but the pulley that had slipped off the motor shaft. I did bring this to the attention of Rega. This complaint of pulley slip was the first.

Before I could investigate the problem, Rega shipped a brand new motor and pcb board free of cost. You don't hear of companies doing this often.

I have had my man service a few RP1 turntables. He should be able to service your's too. But i am not very sure whether it is worth carting it up and down from Bangalore if the problem is minor.

reignofchaos : Thank you very much for directing me to sandeepmohan

Sandeep : What can I say ?? Thanks a ton for agreeing to meet me and helping me resolve my motor issue by letting me have your spare motor, without even knowing me from adam !!! Most kind of you. Thrilled & touched !!!!!! Very happy to be able to listen to my vinyls again !! Will get my replacement motor across to you as soon as I receive it

Now, I eagerly wait for my OM30 to arrive
