Setup for Logitech Z906

Can anyone point me the best way to connect with the below options:

Samsung 22" LCD
Asus O'play mini media player
Logitech z906 - 5.1

I have only RCA cables with me (that comes with media player). I have used earlier with asus --> RCA cables --> to samsung (I know the audio output cannot be justified).
Now that I have an option to use the speakers for a month (until my friend is back from his work assignments abroad) or two.
Do let me know, if i need to get in any other cables and if so, what brand cost?

I thing Logitech z906 has optical and coaxial inputs. Connect the coaxial out of the media player to the z906 using RCA cable to enjoy true surround sound. If the player has no coaxial then you will need optical cable.

Asus - 1 digital audio out, analog video/audio out, HDMI

Logitech z906 - inputs - 2 digital optical and 1 digital coaxial, RCA stereo

Do recommend a digital cable/ price option.

oplay doesnt have coaxical output. only optical.

belkin is selling optical around 400. good quality.

Can i extend the current 7.6 meters of cable for the rear speakers? If so, do let me know which brand to buy?
I would like to extend by another 3-4 meters. Can i use any connectors? The speaker cables of z906 is just plug and play type (Kind of old sony minihifi systems speaker cables). Will the sound quality deter?

u need only one optical cable to connect player to z906. speakers cable comes with the spkr system itself. no need to buy.

Probably my query is not clear. Let me rephrase.
I checked the rear speaker cables of 7.6m each is not sufficient (the rear speakers comes almost 3/4th of the room. I need to take it to the rear wall). Can i extend it by connecting extra speaker cables to the existing 7.6m? Will the sound quality deter? What is the brand i can connect to the existing speaker cables of 7.6m (I plan to add another 3-4 meters!!)

belkin optical digital cable and belkin hdmi

Now Connection:
asus oplay mini -- hdmi - samsung TV LCD
asus oplay mini -- optical digital out --> logitech z906 (digial in option 3)

But the audio and video are coming through my TV. (I had also done a "mute" on the TV and now there is no audio output as expected.)

I selected various options at z906, but no audio.
What other settings to be done, so that audio is through logitech z906?

I think you need to check the audio settings in your media player. Try with bitstream, LPCM etc.

I got it set right after some try. One I had to insert the cable and try again. Next I had opted the right selection option from the z906.
Unfortunately the movie was in 2Ch and then i had played another movie which is the 6ch and its fine now.

I think its the hdmi cable that's giving you troble..hdmi cable provides video and audio feed both. I think, its taking the whole responsibility without caring the optical cable attached.

Change the option from your media player, and stop HDMI audio and select optical audio.
I believe HDMI is the default audio interface.
