The few female audiophiles I know tend to gravitate towards lifestyle (Bose especially) systems than hi-fi systems. A lady is usually more conscious of the look of a space - is that due to cultural conditioning or some inborn perceptive bias, I don’t know. Also, at least in India, women are far more engaged in their roles at home (even if they are working women) than gents - who consequently have more leisure when at home. When it comes to spending on high-end or luxury items, women usually have other preferences such as clothing, fashion, vacation etc. With men, it’s mostly cars and audio - stuff where they can get a bit (or a lot) technical. Of course, there must be exceptions like for everything else.
As for the marketing, it’s understandable that the communication is tailored to the target audience which largely comprises of high-earning men above thirty-five.
