Hi Everyone,

I need your valuable suggestions.

Recently, i thought of getting an Audio Technica LP Player from US. My friend ordered online from amazon US, but the player was not delivered at the right time and my friend came back to India. I would like to know the best cost effective options to ship it to India since my friend went back to US. Could you please suggest me what are the hassles, issues, precautions and best vendor to ship the item to India safely.

Thanks,

Hi,

First and foremost thing would be weight and dimensions of the box based on which shipping rates will depend after which custom charges,
If you select fedex/dhl as shipping wherein rates will be expensive but be rest assured to get stuff in your hand as soon as possible, but here though u would have paid shipping charges they will charge you custom charges too with original bill/challan, only thing is through fedex/dhl you will get your stuff 100% as they manage the clearance.

Also apart from shipping charges, they will charge you custom clearance (gov) + Octroi (depending on ur location ) and fix handling fee

There are lots of solutions available. What I am not sure is if the product did not reach on time, so has it gone back to the seller or is it in some address of your friend/relative.

If its the former, then you can use Amazon to send it directly, as mentioned, you will be charged shipping, customs.

I have used this service before Buy in the USA and UK, ship globally with Borderlinx. They have a shipping cost calculator which can be a good guide. They use DHL to send the package so quite safe.

There used to be others like 20North and if you search the forum I am sure you will find more.

However, not sure how easy would shipping of a turntable be because fo the delivate nature of the system.

Thanks sud98,

The turntable is at my friends place, am just thinking rather than taking the pain of paying all these things and thinking about the condition of the item, its better to return it to amazon and book a new one directly ship to india.

But the prices in Amazon.in and Ebay.in making me to think twice :)
