hi all
I recently got a sony EX520 46".
I thought I could watch movies stored on my 500 GB external hard disk.
But now i realise that the TV doesnt play all the various formats which I have on my disk.
I realised that it plays only a few formats ...
I started using Xilisoft to convert into possible format .. but i have some serious issues...
So .. my request is can some one pls suggest which software to use and some good format which i should convert my DVDrips and 720p movies to so that i can watch the movies without issues ...?

Thanks in advance

feel sorry for you.. You should have researched a bit before purchasing it. you should have gone for the cx3/420 model if you need mkv support. but samsung tvs provide a plethora of video formats but the only -ve point is panel lottery. even i purchased 40cx520 and i am quite happy with it as i own a live hub which satisfies my video playback needs.

do a research about transcend/asus media players if you are under a budget or opt for the live/live hub if you can afford an expensive one.

Why bother about converting files? Converting the files will result in degraded quality. Better buy a hd media player. Good ones are available for as low as 2.5K. Search ebay.in.

If you do want your pc to play the files, then tell us which file types are playable and which are not.

dont waste time in converting files, order a media player enjoy it... media players upconversion is too good.. get 1080p output direct to tv.. if u like 3d wait for xtremer prodiology, else asus will be fine except it lacks internet features...
