Slide show about Amrut Single malts

It is the barley quality, water used and the 'used American bourbon cask' that predominantly gives the flavor of the produce. Checked the presentation, and it is exactly what the Scottish do to create their unbeatable stuff that we all know of. Possibly, climate may also have a role to play too. I guess, Amrut might be sourcing their entire barley feed from 'Barmalt' factory in Haryana.

@George

Yes, that was my first exposure to Amrut. It was at an FM's home.
Infact I wanted to order that but due to some confusions in bottle color I ended up getting Indian version.
But its great too.

Fusion is more burnt and spicy while the other two are much smoother and gentle.

My preference: Peated > Indian > Fusion.

They seem to be available everywhere abroad but not in their own country other than B'lore.
But good news is that they are registering their products in Maharashtra and they must be soon available in Mumbai.

Guys just though I would share my experience with Teachers Origin limited edition. I have been enjoying this excellent libation recently and I must say that the peaty undertone flavor in this is really sublime (it claims a 65% malt content - ardmore malt to be specific). Since we poor souls in Hyd. do not have access to Amrut, IMO this is the best alternate available and perhaps when you consider that the taste of the origin ltd. edition(though it is blended) approaches my personal taste holy grail of single malts - Islay malts - it even surpasses it depending of-course on your preference for peaty flavor. I am now alternating between this and the Laphroaig 10 yr old. Only concern, if it is a limited edition, does that mean it will be gone soon!:sad:.
Cheers,
Sid

I was talking to Neelkanth Rao Jagdale a few months ago(Vice-Ch of Amrut), and he said that the process for selling liquor is a very tedious state by state thing and not worth the hassle. In fact he said unfortunately it is far easier to sell overseas! They were looking at Maharashtra and possibly Chandigarh to expand their market domestically, in view of their planned capacity expansion.

I normally buy my stuff from Cyber Wines located behind Coffee Day on Vittal Mallya Road/Lavelle Road junction, most time they have it. My stock broker is located just above Cyber Wines, so all I need to do is to ask them to check if it's in stock.
