I need some headsup on Smart TVS. I am considering Samsung UA55ES6200 and LG 55LM6700 and need to purchase in the next week or so. Any one with any info, pros and cons, 3D performance, functionality of these or any other models?

Smart TV is a lot of hype and nonsense. One will hardly use those features after the novelty has worn off. Choose a TV based on inherent/prime factors such as picture quality, colour reproduction, native contrast, black levels, response time, lack of judder/ghosting, etc.

Between the above two models you mentioned, both are near equivalent except that Samsung has active 3D whereas LG has passive 3D. Earlier active 3D glasses used to be very heavy and cumbersome but of late they have improved on both factors. The passive 3D glasses are much cheaper (Rs. 1200 for a pair or so).

Hi i have Sony HX850 and its very very good when it comes to picture quality and design. You can also check Sony HX750 which is also good and cheaper than Sony HX850. I also agree that Smart tv is lot of hype and not much of use so buy a tv on the basis of its picture quality. Sony's HX series are very good in picture quality when it comes to LED tvs. Also check Panasonics plasmas.

Sony HX850 55inch - 185000/- (withbill)
Sony HX850 55inch - 145000/- (without bill)
Sony HX750 55inch - 145000/- (withbill)
Sony HX750 55inch - 105000/- (without bill)

Sony BRAVIA LCD TV : Sony India

Panasonic 3D Tvs and Plasma TV | Panasonic

For me the decision between the 2 is quite easy. Samsung uses active 3D technology while LG uses passive. So since I would prefer passive, I'd go for LG.

I own a 6200. Smart is brilliant. Really i mean it. These guys who talk smart is useless, doesn't own one. Active 3d you can watch 3d in full hd, while LG goes to half the resolution. 3d is ok, but smart is brilliant on es 6200. You need a 4 mbps broadband connection to watch youtube, but browser is bloody fast, even 1 mbps ll do it.

55 inch TV Recommendation.

I am planning to buy a 55 inch HD TV in October 2012.

I have heard different sales person talking differently on the following :

Samsung UA55ES6200 , LG 55LM6700 and Sony HX750 55inch.

I am confused as they conflict their versions.

Skype is very good in smart tv if you're using it daily basis, wifi direct is cool feature, browser and internet apps are good but main thing is how often you are gonna use these features...if you have a bluray player then you actually won't care about smart tv.

If you have the budget, consider the Sony 55HX850.

Among the two models mentioned by you, I would recommend you to go for LG, as they implement 3D Tech in their TVs and also when it comes to smart TV apps, I think they are quite good in it.
They are really big issues concerning apps in samsung as they face problem in smooth working once updated.

buy a tv on pq and biggest size possible and buy other smart gadgets like western digital 2nd gen media player with the money saved......just an idea ..no offence
