I was planning to use one of these but am confused which one to get...

we have a Sukam Shiny Sine Wave HUPS 1550 VA in ups mode powering up...

Hi,

What is your input about the "Sukam Shiny Sine Wave 1550 VA" ?

I had taken the 850 one to power just my computer and returned it due to constant buzzing noise. Does this unit make that noise ?

Also, when I returned the ups, the distributor told me not to use surge protector along with UPS, don't know how true that is. Hope some1 enlightens us on this topic too.

Are you sure you can use stabilizer when on UPS ? Take a look at this http://www.hifivision.com/audio-vid...nsion-cords-step-down-transformer-avr-sw.html. Here Belkin has been suggested so I think you can use it.

This is an over/under voltage cut off device and not a stabilizer. It just cuts off the power supply if the voltage goes over or under the set limits and will re-enable supply once the voltage returns to normal.

I use it but not on a UPS backed line.

What is your input about the "Sukam Shiny Sine Wave 1550 VA" ?

The Sukam 1.4KVA sinewave that I have, has a noisy fan that kicks in when charging or on heavy battery drain. The inverter also emits a high frequency whine. I've moved the thing as far away as possible but I can still hear that HF whine. Don't know about the other models from Sukam and/or whether they ever fixed these issues.

Yep it outputs a little sound which can be heard when everything is silent (nights) and fan sound is more when charging and running on battery.

Canceled the order of Sollatek TVGuard Voltage Stabilizer and decided to get Belkin one as it has more options and protects cable tv, telephone and lan cable surges in addition.
