Hi All,

Please help me select a new tv. Should I go for Sony 50W950D (Triluminous display) or 55w800D (Bigger screen size).

My viewing distance would be 8-9 ft.

TIA

Depends on what you are looking for, PQ or larger screen 50 is fine but you pay hefty premium for the gimmicky triluminous display

What is the cost of both these Tvs ? Triluminous always had a slight edge with respect to normal TVs.

50 inch is a healthy size and with 8-9 feet viewing distance, you can even go for 65 inch TV 1080 TV if you are watching only HD content.

Price is almost same for both. 1.1l for 55w800d and 5k extra for 50w950d

50w950d, except size forget everything, it is amazing wow u would fall in love with it. I own one for hall. Though for bedroom i got panasonic 60 inch 4k,,,,
None of any tv i watched in my lifetime untill now has a chance to beat this 50 inch sony,, every rupee u spend on this will get u satisfaction,
People will say 4k, samsung , oled , for 40k u get 50 inch , triluminous is gimmick.....forget all this just buy 50w950...u will thank me lifetime...
How bose is for audio, sony (only 50w950) has proved it right..
Its costly but worth it...
One warning. It will surely make ur neighbours envy, so add stabliser a must...
Forget all bad comments and all blabbers this is an worth lifetime. ....i own one and always recommend one...

I would say both are good models. I am owning 50W800C and PQ is amazing and worth for money... And regarding 50W950D you can see the difference only if you compare both the TVs in a same time. But if you get it to home you wont feel the difference anymore and definitely you will love it.

So my suggestion is to buy 55W800D model than W950.. Obviously W950 wins in-terms of picture quality and black levels still W800 also have the same features except triluminous and extended dynamic range..

I got a 55W800D myself just last week and I find it ordinary, especially for the price I paid. It has judder when those news tickers scroll across the screen, also some judder in fast motion paced scenes and I am not even talking about movies and games.
Colors look good if you are sitting straight on but washed out even if you move to an angle of 30 degrees or more. Maximum Brightness is very low. I don't know if I am missing some settings or even LED TVs like speakers require some break in time. My 5 year old LG looks way better in color reproduction and quality.

I mean it's OK but definitely not worth the money you have to spend to get this. All this hoopla about sony being the best is all BS. My advice : Demo it using a tata sky or any other DTH channels in the showroom. Don't believe their HD content. It will all look good in the showroom.

I know Sony is good but with the price and brand they are asking way too much you can get 4khdr tv of lg of same size with what you will get Sony 1080p

Its more like Apple now
