Friends,

Nice to find an awesome forum like this. It's really informative !
This is my first post in this forum.
I have read many LED TV posts in this forum.
I have been to many showrooms in Bangalore
and shortlisted few TVs depending on my requirements and budget.

1. SONY 46EX 650

2. SAMSUNG 46ES5600

3. LG 47LS5700

4.SONY 46EX 520

Basically I am looking for a 46 inch LED TV with good 2D picture clarity (non 3D) and sound.

I kind of liked all the above models and am not sure which to buy.
Could the members please help me regarding this.
I would really appreciate your response.

Thanks & Regards,
CV Ramana

Hi Guyz

Just got a Sony 40EX650 before 2 days. It's awesome especially all HD channels.... Got it for 46K from the grey market. Showrom price is 65K after discount. Guess its worth the risk on not having one year warranty.. Only issue is it does not come with a wall mount so it will be a DIY....

just asking have you checked plasmas also.....after check if you like led.its ur choice.

.but if you have not tested pls check some hd material side by side..in a plasma and in an led...

in those leds also...which is giving you the best picture is imp....play the same material side by side...or if you dont have material ask the showroom guy to play real hd channels..like star movies hd..or movies now hd..or star gold hd....

but do not go for sound in that model..if you are spending so much.u can get a additional sound with just rs 1500 a 2.1 pc spekaer from intex/creative...those will sound better even than the costliest models own spekers u mentioned...so look for pq..

thanks prosenjit for your reply..
Yes..i have looked into plasma option as well.
However the lighting in my living room is very bright..i have a large french window..
so i am worried plasma would give me dull picture compared to LED

I am getting SONY 46EX 520 (2011 model with one year warranty and an option of extended warranty) for 70K vs SONY 46EX650 for 89K
Is SONY 46EX 650 really worth that extra ~ 20K?
Please help ??

whats ur eyes saying....the extra price maybe for extra fetures apart from pq...have u checked same matarial side by side........or maybe due to use of complete different panel...
In my opinion with that extra 20k..add more 4k and get a onkyo/denon/yamaha entry level home thetre reciever plus speekers and enjoy the full video and audio package..........

I'm sorry if this sounds rude, but why is everyone trying to push plasma when people are asking for help in deciding between xyz TV?

Obviously, the buyer has taken 'some' trouble to shortlist & is just seeking help on HIS shortlist.

Best part is after a while some others will join in debating plasma versus LED/LCD & the person who originally asked the question is completely lost!!!

Can people offering help please restrict your help to what is asked?

Really, it'll help everybody!!!

Not intending to offend anyone by this post.

Thanks.

Hello Sir - Can you please share which model did you finally buy and what has been your experience ! I am confused between the same models and your experience would certainly help a lot in deciding.

Thanks.

I have not still finalized the TV. As prosenjit pointed out, I tried comparing the picture clarity of all the above models with panasonic plasma XT50. I felt plasma has better picture clarity than these models. Inspite of being HD ready, XT50 plasma is better on picture clarity than most of these models. I am more confused now. I am just thinking may be I can cover my french window with a curtain and go with plasma. Afterall 50 inch XT50 plasma is costing only 62k, where 46 inch sony EX650 is costing 89k. Tech gurus..ur inputs plz!

Thanks. I only have space to fit in a 32 inches model hence sticking with LED TV and not considering plasma.

Experts - seek your guidance on which model to pick out of the above three.

go for plasmas...belive me..no led can match up the picture except very very high end cosyly leds.in fact you yourself saw it.in fact the diffrence is much more clear in home than showrooms.in home plasmas shine more than leds...as in showrooms there are much light tha our rooms.
u are mentioning 62k plasma which size....50 inch??I think actual price is less..bargain more.on of hfv member got semi hd 50 inch panny plasma at around 52k...
anyway..I am happy that you found plasmas better picture than leds.so you did not liked the superly overbright leds..which i think is only goos for discovery hd
save money on that..still get a better picture..buy a entry level home theater with tha saved money.....be a hero in front of your wife(home minister)

at 38k u must try 42 inch semi hd plasmas..anyway for 32 inch any sony semi hd will be best...dont buy fhd...semi hd is best for 32 inch
