Sony GNX8D speaker - Attaching it to a new DVD player?

Hi,

I own a 6 year pld GNZ8D ( It has no HDMI/Optical options)and want to buy a DVD player with 5.1 support with HDMI.

Can I GNZ8D speakers to new DVD player?

Also, any BD player with 5.1 Sound to which I can attach Sony Speakers?
