Hi,

Decided to buy a 55" TV . Which of the below to buy ??

Sony HX750 or Samsung ES6200. Please suggest!!!!

regards
:)

HX750, without a shadow of doubt. Although i have to tell you the 55" LED's are not value for money and if you do not mind a plasma the ST50 would be a great buy at a lakh rupees. I have to add though Plasma's have to be taken care off meticulously in the initial usage as they continue to suffer from image retention and burn in which is not covered by warranty. Plasma's are also not suited for bright viewing conditions although the ST50 is a fairly bright TV by plasma standards.. LED's are a good buy up until 46'-47'' but they are priced exorbitantly in the 55'' plus sizes.

yes consider all points
1.a 50 inch plasma will be 80k only....If UT series...
2.a 50 incher plasma with really high picture is 1.2 lakh....GT series...
3.HX 750 55 inch is around 1.5 lakh......picture quality slighly down than GT series plasma...
4.HX 850 55 inch is dangerously high.....which is at par picture quality with GT series plasma....some say this better.... some say that....

now yes the burn in period hassle and image retention care......plasma do have this drawbacks....if you are ready with those go for plasma...high value for maoney plus picture quality better......

if not ready get a HX 750.....anytime better than samsung.....

but yes demo all
sony led
panasonic plasma
samsung led

go with your choice..not mine or any others....try with high quality files and br disk.
best of luck

also consider a projector as how big tvs are they are just tvs...cant beat a projector wow experience...however for everyday tv channel use a prjector is not recomended..
for completly personal and movie/gaming occassional Tv purpose projector is best....good projectors are easily avilable within 1.5 lakh

Avoid plasmas if you dont want image burn which is not covered under warranty by plasma companies and also massive reflections, so better get the HX750.

Thanks for your views and suggestions.

Since mine is bright room the option of Plasma is ruled out.

My First choice was for Sony HX850 46". But since few of my freinds and relatives suggest to go for 55" i thought of HX750 or Samsung ES6200(thoug both are lower level 3D Led TV).

Since i have to use the TV for normal SD channels and HD also prefer TV over Projector(also being a bright room).

Had few reviews of both. But could not find any major difference. Also Sony has 3D galsses which is of considerable weight and also cost three times the Samsungs.

But now am in confusion over both. Hope could finalise either of both this weekend.

:)

3D is not of much use for next few years atleast, it is still at a nascent stage.. look for the regular HD & SD PQ and give max weightage to them.... by the time 3D contents become more common, the technology will leapfrog and you definitely have to go for new TV with the newer technology to enjoy 3D content..

It is a toss between larger size/lower quality (55HX750) vs. lower size/stunning quality (46HX850). Both have pros and cons. Do a demo and then decide.

You have not said what you will be watching mainly and the viewing distance. If the viewing distance is 12' and above and mainly going to watch DTH, then go for HX750. If watching true BD stuff, then HX850.

Thanks for your reply

I had demo of both HX850 and HX 750. I agree that HX850 has Stunning PQ as compared to HX 750.

But felt that HX750 does not fall so behind. offcourse the black level was clearly the major difference.

My viewing distance would be between 12' to 15'. Mainly would be DHT in weekdays and may be for BD movies in weekends.

hows ur opinion on Samsung ES6200 as compared to HX750??

regards

HX750 is much better than ES6200.

For your requirements, close your eyes and go for the HX750. HX750 is better than es8000 forget es6200.

Congratulations. Bigger the better. Hope you purchased the extended warranty from Sony/Dealer?

Congrats !! .. it's a great TV.. yes don't forget to take the extended warranty already suggested by KITTU...

Hi kittu,

Thanks. No didnt get extended warranty since purchased from E zone.

its only one year.

regards

See if you can negotiate and buy the extended warranty for another two years. It really helps. :)

I think you can buy it from the Sony service centre directly..

BTW, Ragav, what's the deal you got for your 55EX750 from e-zone?

Congrats! enjoy your purchase, good that you choose 55" cause i always feel bigger the better, i gotta get my hands on one of those 64" plasma in the near future. :)
