Sony KDL-46W704

Hi Guys,

Own a Samsung 40" LCD which is 6+ years old. Planning to upgrade to an LED and wanted to go for a Sony and found this model KDL-46W704 which is reasonably priced. I am not a big fan of 3D and Smart TV features etc, just looking for a good piece of HW for the next 5 to 6 years. Wanted to know from the forum if there are TV's in other brands with similar features and price range. I dont want to play games on TV or browse the net, primarily use it for watching Movies/Sports in HD.

Well it is a good tv, but you do not get the advanced motion flow settings, which i feel is a must. Due to the lack of this feature, you will notice lag in this TV.

Is there a specific size you are looking for?
What is your budget?

I would suggest looking at

1. Sony W900a
2. Sony W800a
3. Samsung F6800
4. Samsung F6400

Size, what ever suits your budget.

Since i already own a 40" TV, plan is to upgrade to 46"+. My budget is around 75K, i can stretch to max 85.

Well at that budget, you will not be able to get the 46" versions of the sets that i mentioned.

I would suggest you go for the 42 W800a or you could also look at samsung 46"F5500.

Regarding ur comment about sluggish motion flow in this model, the KDL-46W704 released only couple of months back in Singapore and not available in India yet, so i am assuming it to have the latest features. Correct me if i am wrong. I am pasting the link below. Maybe you can check the specs and let me know if its good/bad.

The set is out in india. It is W700A.
I have auditioned the set and seen the lag.
My suggestion for you is to go for the Sony 42 W800a.
As that is the best set for your budget and is also hopefully future proof

I would suggest you go for the 42 W800a or you could also look at samsung 46"F5500.
