Sound Card under 5 K. for movies.

Hello Friends,

i am in search of a sound card (should have 6 channel analog output for 5.1 sound) for my PC.
Budget : under 5 k
mainly used for movie watching.

Please suggest me something good as i am confuse here. and is not able to come to any conclusion.

priviously i was thinking of asus xonar dx... first there is availability issue another i have read that is card have some driver compatibility issue. not sure how much truth in that.

however still i have eye on asus xonar dx. but looking if i can found something better within my budget.

more suggestions are welcome

Asus has good reviews and work perfectly.Sound is not digital like some creative cards.

Asus Xonar DX 7.1 will come in your budget and is the best bang for buck. But if you can raise your budget a bit, you can't go wrong with Asus Xonar D2X

yes Asus Xonar D2x is bit out of budget for now.

However regarding Asus Xonar DX, does it still have driver issue. or diver issue is resolved now. please share you view.

There are so many updated drivers available.If you are not satisfied,there are some uni-xonar drivers are available which worked for me very well.

There are no driver issues. I use the ones from Daniel K, zero issues! Go for it, nothing beats the DX in this price range.

Xonar DX has no sound related issues. I am currently using it in my setup with DA Pro.
Maybe the interface doesnt allow for volume control sometimes. But last time I installed driver (Before format) that was working.

I would suggest matching DAC with speakers. What are your speakers? For DA Pro it is over-match.

i am preferring it with DA5000 pro only, for movie only

however also have NAD326 BE + PSB Image B5(for music purpose only), so i have option to connect these in place of Front Speakers

Yes that would make a nice 7.1 system.
And do justice to Xonar DX which supports 7.1.
I have attached C3 to front out and have got a nice 7.2 with great bass.

Have a look at 'Asus Xonar U7' it costs 5.5k and it's available here ......
