Hi all

Ht is not my forte
Hope you guys can help,me

Require a soundbar or soundbar with sub combo

Room is 16* 22

Most important is clear dialogue
No drowning of voices
No tinny shit
Should be adequate for the room size

Budget 50-60k or thereabouts
However if the job is gonna be done in 20k that suggestion is welcome too
As I said
Most important dialogue from TV

I have read a couple threads
Almost all have got derailed to the favour of stereo set or an avr based solution
Please do not do that here

I have read about the following
I like the first 2
But I think they aren't sold in India

Here are some I read about

Sony HT-ST5 Soundbar System | Sound & Vision

Soundbar Roundup Pioneer SP-SB23W | Sound & Vision

Vizio S5430W C2 54 Inch 3 0 Soundbar Black | eBay

http://m.snapdeal.com/product/yamaha-ysp2200-digital-sound-projector/1505660415

Q Acoustics M4 Sound BAR | eBay

http://m.snapdeal.com/product/jbl-sb350-soundbar-with-wirless/1602277955

Where to buy
Would also be greatly appreciated
INDIA only though

I've not heard many but I did audition the Yamaha and liked it very much.

Crisp audio and clear dialogues (supports only DTS & DD).

It can even be used as standalone speaker (even via Bluetooth) so can be used as a dock for playing off the smartphones and tablets.

FWIW, I really liked the audio, excellent clarity and detail especially for the dialogues. Never heard any music on it though.

Only cons are no surround sound, and no HDMI or HD Audio, but for watching TV content it makes a lot of sense. No wires and no clutter.

The model (sorry don't remember the number) I heard was quoted around 50-55K (IIRC).

I recommended Yamaha ysp 2200 to a relative based on reviews and then heard it after installation. Nothing special according to me, but he was very happy with the detail and clarity. The subwoofer is not that great either. He was bringing it from us and found a good deal at $700, but at 70K I wouldn't recommended it. To make matters worse, another problem was that due to its design, it needs to be placed on the av cabinet, which in his case was low height. No amount of calibration can solve the problems this placement creates. I would suggest go for wall mountable design, or try and place the table-top design soundbars at proper height and on sturdy surfaces.

please note

If you don't mind 2.1 setup then the Onkyo LS3100 will really suits well for the main requirement. I have written about this couple of times, please search the forum for it.

The price should be close to 30K only.

Philips htl 9100 if you can get an audition ,heard it at a friend's place Super product imho can be used as 3.1 also !!!!!

Hi Magma:

I bought a Sony HT XT-1 Sound Plate from Beach Camera, ebay USA and was shipped through i2cworld in 8 days.

Though you have mentioned your requirement as Soundbar, thought I would share my experience after having used it for about 6 months now.

Sound is loud and clear with 2 bottom drivers for bass and 2 front drivers. Biggest advantage is it has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 output. Hence you can connect your STB, DVD Player and a PS etc. Also has BT, NFC etc. facility.

Costed me Rs.28,000/- landed, no Octroi. Check for availability now since it's a US model and have to use a step down transformer. In case you would like to hear it come over, send me a PM.

the supposed
