speakers for denon 1912 - 50/60K

In the process of acquiring a HT. Getting a Denon 1912 .
Want a good 5.1 speaker system , primarily for watching movies. Getting a Epson TW3600 projector. Room size 17/12.
Any suggestions please.

Though it is recommended that tower speakers are not required only for movies, i went in for Monitor Audio with the idea that later want to grow into music, will be useful. There is some sale on them, check out and see if they suit. Can recommend talk to Palani in bangalore who has a lot of knowledge on the subject and can suggest. I was also looking at Paradigm CT series which are bookshelves and good for pure movies.

You can check out blackstone series from Polk audio, which starts at 33k for TL1 with SW. It is available at Profx stores. It sounds amazing given the small form factor.

Hi Thanks guys , now just want to rewind a little and ask if a Denon 1612 is enough or should i spend a little more for the 1912. Is the difference significant enough, as i may not be using it so much for music as such.

Check out detailed reviews on 1912 to know benefits of buying this. What i can see is that it supports Airplay, has USB in for i-Pod.

with this budget you can have Polk audio Tsi series front Tsi 300, centre cs 10/20, surround owm3, and sub psw 110
i heard the same at Ahmedabad profx dealer sounds great.I am going to buy same.

Thanks for the input. i read the review, and wanted to know if this MultiEQ-XT that is missing from the 1912 model makes a big difference. And which model do u have.

I dont have an IPod , so this Airplay and streaming stuff also does not appeal. So i guess for me a 1612 should suffice.

Finally the Denon 1912 arrived yesterday from Dubai. Got it for 31K. Was being quoted 45 here.
Now considering Wharfedale Obsidian 600 cinema package with SW-150 subwoofer, (44K + 27k) or the Polk Audio series Tsi 400, CS100, Tsi 100 -BS, & PSW-110 ( 72k).
Is this a good price for the Polk combo ?

Congrats for the denon. Polks have a more brighter sound compared to the warmer wharfs. Suggest you to demo both and then decide. Wharf diamond series would be better than the Obsidian series. Polk Tsi400 is a very good highly rated speaker.

Warf 9.5 FS + 9CS center + 10 DFS surround (will cost around 55k)
Add SW150 sub (abt 22k-23k) later (incrementally) if that is permissible.

That was the price during April 2012 in Bangalore. We were planning to buy few other things along with the speakers but things did not materialize and deal was not completed. Anyway, soon I will be going for the combo and I will be able to update u on the latest price, however I am sure inflation did not move the numbers north by 20% meanwhile
Are you quoted MRP? Who gave u the quote? Usually u can bargain on MRP. I will also check with our fellow FMs... someone would have bought this combo recently.

I see ur location is Mangalore. If possible u can check with vector systems, brigade rd, bangalore.
