Speakers for Denon AVR 1612

Hi, I am a resident of Pune and have joined this forum recently. Reading the forum posts for couple of days and found some good knowledge on AVRs and stuff. Therefore seeking help from gurus here regarding my HT set up I am planning to custom build with AVR and Speaker system. My budget is 40 K max.

I have zeroed on Denon AVR 1612. Considering its price to be ~29k. Can someone suggest me 5.1 Package Speakers under 15k ? Will the quality of same be the one provided in Denon XP 1312 HTib ?

29K is the MRP of Denon 1612. You will get it for less. There is one jbl 5.1 which is around 15K, model I don't remember. Boston Acoustics XS 5.1 is close to 24K. Check hifimart.com for combo offers.

Slightly off topic - I have an interesting observation about the AVR prices and please correct me if I am wrong. I have seen in a couple of instances where one can have either a very good discount or easy bargain on the AVRs of all brands. It is not that we cannot bargain for other items like TV, phones, etc, but for AVRs, most of the showrooms/dealers are very flexible (comparatively) in reducing the price. I guess it is due to the fact that AVRs don't sell in masses.

Whenever there's a mass selling, the margins are lower in the market. Whenever volumes are low, the margins will be higher in the market so that dealer/seller gets compensated for low volumes by having higher margins on the product.

This is a market phenomenon in practice all across the world.

Ofcourse it is factory refurb but trust me it is brand new

If you have decided on the AVR as Denon 1612, you can go for Space Audio speakers which would fit in your budget. They sound as good as Bose cubes...you should try to hear them if possible.

If you are in Mumbai, you can go to Heera Panna (Sound Out Shop no 12) and meet Irfan who can help you out.. You can buy the Marantz NR1402 for something like 23k and Pioneer VSX 521K for around Rs 17k. Space Audio is for 17k....see the following link for specs...powered sub..
