hi All,
Any suggestion for Split ac for living room:

1. Main criteria quick cooling in Delhi heat.
2. Noise level should not be too high
3. Not bothered about power consumption as it will be used vary rarely.
4. Should have good after sales and not too trouble prone.

Do post your budget and capacity or room size.

Generally all reputed brands have similar machines and support.

Won't agree. If you have spent money and feeling heat then you will use it. Even just night (6 hours) usage can increase power costs if lower power rated.

Budget: Not an issue ( Although wouldnt want to spend if not required).

Room Size: about 15 x 25 feet ( Direct Delhi sun with large picture windows througtout one side of the room ie. the full 25 feet length). Am ok with putting 2 aircons . Currently have one Sharp Inverter ( 1.5T) - whcih will be shifted to guest bedroom. This barely cools it and just about makes it bearable in summer.

Use: Living room is only used when guests are there ( which is hardly once or twice a month).. so objective is to provide maximum comfort in the least amount of time.

Read about Airflow capacities: Read that aircons with larger airflow capacities would cool room faster . is that true or would just increasing tonnage solve the problems?

It depends upon room conditions and layout. Moreover this can be a marketing gimmick also.
Check this.

I would suggest for a A/C specialized brand like blue star/ daikin with 2 units of 1.5t should be sufficient. You should try putting a darkening curtain / blinds to protect the heat through big window.

I guess a 3 star would suffice..
Already have double lined blinds.. will go for daikin with highest airflow i guess or maybe a mitsibishi..

Get the lowest star rating highest tonnage rating Air conditioner.
You don't have budget constraint, and neither do you have any qualms of higher electricity consumption.

Higher tonnage = faster cooling.
Higher Star rating = lower electricity consumption for the same cooling, but comes at higher price.

On the other hand, resale value of 5 star AC will always be higher than that of 2 star, but will it cover the initial higher price of 5 star rated AC? Doubtful. So go in for lowest star rating.

Higher airflow will always help (increases heat transfer therefore faster cooling; but as far as I remember generally all blowers are of 400 cubic feet per minute capacity per ton of cooling)

have similar requirement as SaurabhK, looking for 1.5-2T super silent split with higher air flow for my living room.
has anyone bought from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries? is the premium they charge over Daikin/Sharp really worth?

No, they don't. You can go for Daikin. Don't buy Sharp, they have pathetic after sales support. Few points I want to mention here: 1) buy an AC that uses either R410A or R32 refregrant, 2) look for copper coil and condenser. 3) Check the EER, higher is better.

Friends,

Which is the best models available with copper condensor?
Need to buy 1Ton and 1.5Ton range in Chennai. 3star rating is enough. Thanks in advance. :)

SRK 21 CNS - S6 model from Mitsubishi ticks all my boxes, only thing which is holding me back is like Sharp they are importing parts/ACs from Thailand.

i think copper coils one should avoid in Noida because of high sulphide content in air here. moslty everyone i know has gas leakage problems with hitachi, daikin etc in nOida. But using sharp since last one year,,, not a single problem. Had hitachi earlier... horrible time.
