Spotify premium in India

Hi,

Has anybody tried getting Spotify premium in India ? I have heard that it works globally.

Any tips and tricks ?

Spotify free also works well in India. Premium is available globally in the countries where Spotify is official. It will also work in India using the Hola unblocker. However I dont think you can pay for it using Indian credit cards. You will have to create the account from abroad using a foreign card. You should then get it here using the unblocker.

How did you sign-up and get the free version to work in India? VPN / Proxy ??

I get the message "Spotify is currently not available in your country." on heading over to http://www.spotify.com

Are u sure that Spotify works in India? But their site says otherwise:sad:

It is very simple. Download the Hola unblocker app for chrome browser from app store. Change country to USA in Hola, log on to Spotify.com and create a free account. Be sure to give a pin code from USA, anyone, it doesn't matter since they don't ask for exact address. And presto! You are ready to go! Amazing sound quality even though it's supposed to be 96kpbs. Create your own playlist, search for your favorite songs, listen all day long without a break, it's addicting! You can use the same Hola unblocker on your Android phone and get Spotify on your phone too.
If you connect your comp through USB to a good DAC, you get still better sound quality!
Unfortunately Hola unblocker can't be used on iOS devices. But if you create an Apple account on your device if you travel to USA and use an USA credit card to register only, (not pay for premium), you can then download Spotify free on your iOS device and continue using it when you come back to India.
You don't really need Spotify Premium unless you are obsessed with sound quality. I find free pretty good.

I have asked for "Premium" because it works internationally. I do not mind paying 600 if it starts working on my squeezebox as well. Plus there are goodies like higher streaming rate also.

However I am not able to make a payment for premium with my credit cards or Paypal.

I am using it for the last two years on my PC as well as Squeezbox touch & on my Iphone also.Using details of one of relative in USA.You will need hola only for registering then after it works nicely without any problem.You can also use TOR browser for registration.

It doesnt work after the 20 days travel thing. Proxmate, etc will not work then because the is an app. Some other programs are needed, which i am not keen on. Any way we can use Spotify just on the web app? Guess chrome proxy would work then.
