Suggestion for 40" inch LED TV within 42K

Hi Experts,

Until recently I was a passive visitor to this forum to assist myself for my buying decisions and you all have been really helpful.

Need your suggestions for 40" LED TV within strict budget of 42K

Requirements:

1] Viewing Distance: 6-8 feet in living room.

2] Full HD [Should be able to play HD Movies]

3] 3D is not must.

4] Will be using it as monitor with HDMI via my Laptop, to stream You Tube videos for my 1 year old daughter

5] Picture Quality should be good if some features are compromised I am OK.

As well as would also like to know whether buying from Dubai would save some bucks or the difference wont be too much

Preferred brands in order of preference: 1] Sammy 2] Sony 3] LG.

I am using Toshiba 40PS200 from last 2 months. I had same requirements like you. It is available on snapdeal in similar price range.

It works well for me. Good PQ. Build Quality is not that great.

But Everything is fine for this budget.

Made in INDIA (but it think it is just assembled in India).

Dont know about service from Toshiba.

Thanks rsponline...but my dad is adamant and he is very big fan of Sammy and Sony...making him convince would be tough for me. :sad:

Could you give me some good reasons for Toshiba 40PS200 which i could use to persuade him...

Yes, there is one big point to convince .. Warranty ... it has 3 years manufacturers warranty which covers panel. If LED or LCD panel works good for this time period then it will last long for many years. Many panel problems shows up in first 2 years.

I had Samsung LCD TV which is scrap now because panel gone bad after 1.5 years(warranty was only 1 year).

I think for this budget and requirements Toshiba is only branded option for you. Otherwise ask dad to increase budget and go for Sony.

Remember one thing.......when it comes to LED, you need to spend a lot more to get decent level of video quality. Entry level LEDs are the worst. If budget is an issue suggest you to go with plasma.

In entry level / budget category no LED can match the picture quality of plasma.

^+1. At 42K, you will be hard-pressed to find any decent LED set. You will get CCFL-LCD. You can get decent HD-Ready plasma in the same price that will beat the LED/LCD quality hands down. Check Samsung plasma's.

i personally belive even 150% times costlier one leds also fail to compete...:lol::lol:
but the op insisted on leds so just suggested him..
